Son of Councillor José Antonio de Freitas (1830-1894), professor of Topographical Anatomy, Faculty of Medicine of Bahia.
Carlos Freitas was born in Salvador, in 1862.
Pasted the degree of Doctor of Medicine in 1884, the Faculty of Medicine of Bahia.
Two years after forming, was Professor, by tender, the chair of Obstetrics and Gynecology. In 1891, Lens Clinic Propedêutica (transferred in the same year, to the chair of Comparative Anatomy and Medical Surgical). In 1911 he became ordinary professor of clinical surgery and remained so until 1916, the year of his retirement.
He is the author of the School of Historical Memory, concerning the year 1906.
