At the end of sixth year, was named interim Director of the Asylum St John of God, through the Director effective the following year, remaining so until 1882. That year he became Assistant Medical Cynical interim. In 1883, he was Acting Professor in the same discipline. In 1889, after a competition, he was appointed Professor of Medical Pathology.
