Born in Salvador, Bahia, in the year 1831 (or 1832, no one knows for sure). Completed the course in Medicine, Faculty of Medicine of Bahia, in 1855.
In 1857, to procure the Medical Section of Opposition, getting approval. Two years later, he ran the vacancy Lens replacement of the Medical Section, and in 1865 ran for chair of Physiology and died before the end of the contest.
Worship and undeniable penchant for teaching, wrote several literary works, collaborating in several newspapers.
In his bibliography, we highlight the following titles:
• Physiology of the spinal cord. Theory of reflex movements, etc.. (Inaugural Dissertation, Bahia, 1856).
• A vaccine, like abortion and preservative of smallpox, is harmful? - Thesis of Opposition to contest the Medical Section. Bahia, 1856.
• What is the Hippocratic vitalism? Thesis tender for replacement of the Medical Section. Bahia, 1859.
