Following in the footsteps of its illustrious parent, Prof. Aristides Novis, began his academic career as Assistant Professor of Physiology, soon winning, thanks to his enthusiasm and deep knowledge and admiration of his disciples.
His rise was swift and glowing.
Although newly formed, became Assistant Professor.
He began his specialization in the Oswaldo Cruz Institute and, on returning to Salvador, underwent contest to Associate Professor of Physiology, at which he defended a thesis on crioepilepsia.

Throughout his career, has achieved significant positions, including Director of the School of Medicine and Secretary of Health of Bahia.
In private practice has enjoyed a privileged position, either as a general practitioner or as a family doctor.
Author of countless scientific papers published in national and international Jorge Novis joined the Academy of Medicine of Bahia and numerous scientific and cultural institutions and honored as few medicine Bahia.
