Born in Salvador, in 1855.
Pasted the degree of Doctor of Medicine, Faculty of Medicine of Bahia, on 21 December 1878.
1st assistant chair of Clinical Affairs in 1882. Associate Medical Clinic in 1887. Lens Clinic and Policlinic for Children Medical and Surgical by tender from 1887 to 1911. Ordinary Professor of Clinical Pediatrics and Child Hygiene, from 1911 to 1914.
It is considered the first Professor of Pediatrics, discipline created in 1842 (Barros Neto in Tavares, work cited, Caio Moura Sá Oliveira in the work cited).
Indicated to the government, by the Congregation of the School was commissioned for a study tour in Europe.
Author of Historical Memory of the Faculty for the year 1892.
"Spirit privileged, either by the brilliance of intelligence, both for the remarkable clinical intuition, became Dr. Castro Rabelo favor of a figure in medical circles of his time " (1).
He died in 1928.
