Born in Salvador, on June 21, 1878, and his parents Ernesto Diniz Gonçalves and Maria Brasilia Albertazzi Gonçalves Diniz,
Completed preparatory studies, he enrolled at the Faculty of Medicine of Bahia, for which he was graduated in Pharmacy (1898) and Medicine (1902).
They were classmates in medical school, Antony Bonfim de Andrade, Antônio Prado Valladares, Jose Dario Peixoto de Menezes Heraclius Ponciano, Jose Cordeiro dos Santos Filho and Oscar Freire de Carvalho. Antônio Prado Valladares, Oscar Freire de Carvalho, José Dario Peixoto de Menezes and Heraclitus were Ponciano school's faculty. Antony Bonfim de Andrade and Jose Cordeiro dos Santos Filho, participated, even as students of the War of Straws.
Prado Valadares student was awarded the Prize Prof. Manoel Victorino Pereira Memorial School and was in the year 1913.
In 1911, Eduardo Diniz began its activities in the chair of anatomy, as Preparer. Thanks to their dedication and persistent study, it became, in 1916, after tender of securities and evidence, Professor of the same discipline.
He taught for many years at the School of Dentistry.
Teacher of great renown, he held the regency for several decades, competing with his talent and his ability to always enjoyed the prestige that Faculty
He was head of school, forming numerous disciples and followers, among which we highlight Audemário Silvino Guimarães (Bororo), João José de Almeida Seabra (Seabra Jonas), Renato Teixeira, Milton Villela Uzeda several anatomists and high concept.
Prof. Eduardo Diniz Gonçalves, known as "Tootles" exercised, in addition to teaching activities, the medical clinic, where he was present as thorough professional and humanitarian.
Thanks to its value, was technical director of the Hospitals of Spanish and Portuguese in Salvador.
It was State Representative (1911-1914), State Senator, Alderman and Mayor, carrying themselves with dignity, clarity and praise.
He was possessed of known artistic talents, was good pianist and an excellent craftsman.
Professor Emeritus, Faculty of Medicine (1947) and the School of Dentistry (1954), honored traditions of Bahia, leaving at the end of life, a legion of students, friends and admirers.
Died March 23, 1955 living, so 77 years.
